NAIDOC Week 2020

8-15th November

Royal Life Saving WA is a proud participant in NAIDOC Week, celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This year's theme of Always Was, Always Will Be recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for our continent for over 65,000 years.

2020 has been an important year for Royal Life Saving WA's work towards reconciliation, with the release of our REFLECT Reconciliation Action Plan. Let's all celebrate the rich history of Australia by seeing, hearing and learning from our First Nations peoples.

Below are some of the NAIDOC Week activities and events that are being held or participated in by Royal Life Saving WA and our program partners:

Pilbara Aquatic Festival

Supported by Principal Community Partner BHP, Town of Port Hedland and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries. The Pilbara Aquatic Festival will be held on 11-12th November and will see over 180 children from 12 communities throughout the Pilbara visit Port Hedland to participate in swimming and lifesaving activities.
