A famous face in Bidyadanga as pool season opens

2 October 2019

Isaiah Firebrace performing at Bidyadanga Remote Aboriginal Swimming PoolAs the Bidyadanga Remote Aboriginal Swimming Pool opened for the season last week there was extra excitement as a special guest came to town to entertain the locals! The 2016 Winner of X Factor, Isaiah Firebrace, came to Bidyadanga Community for a performance as part of his tour.

The Bidyadanga Aboriginal Community La Grange, who were hosting the event, asked to move the event to the pool due to the day being a sunny and hot 34 degrees. With ample shade and cool water Bidyadanga Pool Manager Bernie Egan was more than happy to oblige, welcoming the concert to the pool with open arms!

Over 120 community members came along to enjoy the live music performed by Isaiah. He was also happy to oblige by having many selfies taken with local community members after the concert, and there was no keeping him out of the pool on such a hot day, with the kids enjoying a swim with the star!

The day was rounded off with some soccer on the grass at the pool before Isaiah took off on the next leg of his tour. Bidyadanga has been a popular spot for celebrities to visit in recent times, with Hugh Jackman visiting the town late last year. We look forward to seeing who the next famous face is to take a trip to the town!
