Cultural awareness training a big success
Royal Life Saving WA’s first Cultural Awareness Training presentation was a huge success. Conducted by the Access and Equity Team, the training aims to provide instructors, pool managers, aquatic employees and Royal Life Saving WA staff with the knowledge to work with multicultural communities, as well as strategies on how to be inclusive as they can during key programming.
Royal Life Saving WA consulted with key community groups in creating the initial presentation, and were particularly grateful for the input from Inclusion WA’s Denver D’Cruz and MMRCWA’s Deborah Pyatt.
Attendees on the first training day included Najma, Royal Life Saving WA’s own Muslim instructor, and Gavin Greaves from the Clontarf Foundation. Gavin and Najma were the first participants to see this presentation and we would like to thank them for their contribution and feedback to help us improve before we conduct this training in 2018.
This initiative is part of Royal Life Saving WA’s commitment to inclusivity. If you'd like to take part in this training in early 2018 please complete the expression of interest form at the link below.
