Multicultural Steering Committee leads the way
The bi-annual Royal Life Saving Society WA Multicultural Steering Committee meeting was held recently to discuss yearly successes, highlights and key achievements with the Access & Equity CaLD & Aboriginal Programming.
This meeting had attendees from City of Kwinana (Kwinana Recquatic), Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, Chung Wah Association, Indian Society of WA, Metropolitan Migrant Resource Centre (MMRC), Edmund Rice Centre, Inclusion Solutions, Clontarf Foundation and Federation of Overseas Chinese Associations.
The steering committee involves key stakeholders who partner with the Society to deliver Swimming and Water Safety Education Programs, Cultural Awareness Training and feedback on how to create more opportunities for CaLD and Aboriginal communities.
Due to the ongoing collaboration with these key partners, and fostering strong relationships within the community at the steering committee, Royal Life Saving WA has been nominated for a Leadership Award at next week’s Sport and Recreation Industry Awards Breakfast at Optus Stadium.
The Society’s Access & Equity Team, CEO Peter Leaversuch, Board Members and key community partners will be attending the breakfast. Royal Life Saving would like to take this opportunity to thank of all our key partners and community groups forassisting us to promote swimming & water safety education, leading us to be a nominee for these awards.
