Royal Life Saving WA is providing grants of $1000 to selected Endorsed Swim Schools to help increase the amount of WA children learning to Swim & Survive. These grants are targeted at individuals who are experiencing financial hardship and otherwise would not be able to participate in swimming lessons.A young boy wearing goggles enjoying his swimming lesson at Collie

Swim School Coordinator Maureen Lasisz says the students who benefited from the funding have “gone ahead in leaps and bounds” and will be looking out for further funding opportunities in the future to help even more students learn to vital swimming and water safety skills.

In 2016/2017 a total of $9000 was given out, which helped fund lessons for 79 individuals who were at-risk for a range of different reasons. This year we are on track to fund over 100 participants!

The Swim and Survive Fund is part of our broader Access and Equity program, which is proudly supported by BHP, the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and the Office of Multicultural Interests.
