Raffle winner takes home brand new car
Royal Life Saving WA's latest raffle winner took home a brand new car today after his lucky winning ticket was drawn in our September raffle. Dean English says he was driving home from work when he received the good news. "When they told me I had won first prize, I had to pull over. I just thought it was fantastic. There was never any doubt that we'd take the car!”
Royal Life Saving WA runs three major raffles each year, to support our drowning prevention work in the WA community, with winners given the option of taking $15,000 cash or a brand new Hyundai Accent. Dean says the choice really was a no brainer! "This car is going to help my family enormously. We are a Hyundai family and already have an i20 which we love."
The raffle ticket was purchased as part of the Western Charity Alliance, which sees customers offered the opportunity to buy tickets as part of a bundle which puts them in the draws for raffles that support Royal Life Saving WA, Rebound WA, Children's Leukaemia and Cancer Research Foundation and Diabetes WA. Dean clearly remembers when he purchaased his lucky winning ticket. "I have bought a lot of raffle tickets over the years. This one I bought when a lovely young lady came knocking on my door on a Saturday and I thought 'good on you for working on the weekend'! So I bought a ticket."
Dean and his daughter Carrie picked up their brand new car from Wild West Hyundai, where Dealer Principal David Filmann and his team made a very special effort to "gift wrap" the vehicle.
