Participants at the Royal Splash! Seminar held over the weekend
Rave reviews of the inaugural Royal Splash seminar
What a splash our first ever Royal Splash seminar made on the weekend!
26 enthusiastic instructors spent the day learning, networking and applying the skills covered across the course of the seminar.
Three Royal Life Saving WA trainers presented including Juanita Adie-Cooper who covered ‘Making a Difference – Teaching Multicultural Ladies’.
Cyrus Milne followed suit teaching about Men's Multicultural Lessons and former Swim Teacher now disability expert, Vanessa Jessett focused on communication for people with a disability.
Following the excitement contained in the classroom, a delicious morning tea and lunch was provided for everyone to refuel before a jam-packed second session.
There was a healthy balance of wraps, sushi and fruit, but who could forget about the pastries and brownies, which kept people coming back for more.
Everyone was eager to jump into the practical Advanced Water Safety Skills workshop delivered by Alicia Coppin.
Alicia detailed various rescue technique and tows, as well as defensive techniques and water safety sequences, which everyone is excited to start implementing in next term's lessons.
Professional development sessions are extremely valuable for our Swim Teachers and Trainers as they get to expand their skills and knowledge as well as share with others to enhance their own courses.
Royal Life Saving Swim Teacher Nicole Durrant credited the presenters and participants as "next-level sensational" and was grateful for having "such talent right at our doorstep!"
With feedback as positive as this, we can't wait to continue to run more PDs in the future, so be sure to keep an eye on the website with the link below so you don't miss out.
