Remote pools open for new season

11 September 2015

The arrival of Spring marks the start of the new season for Royal Life Saving’s Remote Aboriginal Swimming Pools project.

The pools at Burringurrah, Jigalong, Yandeyarra, Bidyadanga, Warmun and Fitzroy Crossing are focused on encouraging safe participation in aquatic activities by local residents, and ensuring all children in these communities have an opportunity to learn vital swimming skills.

One of our Remote Pool Managers, Bernie Egan, is just starting her 7th season with Royal Life Saving, and spent some time telling us about her pool at Bidyadanga.
