Royal Life Saving proud to partner with Subiaco Primary School

5 November 2016

Royal Life Saving Society WA is excited to be building a strong relationship with Subiaco Primary School, which is providing great benefits for children in the local community.

We've been working closely with the school to manage its pool over the past couple of years, including the provision of pool lifeguards over the summer period. We will soon be assisting in starting summer swimming lessons for children in the area, both after school and on weekends. The lessons will be delivered by Swim Mechanix, following the Royal Life Saving Swim and Survive program, which is focused on not only teaching children how to swim, but where and when to do so safely.

A Swim School Open Day will be held at the pool on Sunday 11th December from 12 noon to 2pm, with swim assessments & enrolments, a P&C Sausage Sizzle, Royal Life Saving Inflatable Water Slide and heaps of giveaways!

There are several enrollment options to choose from, with two intensive programs happening over 9 days from Monday 19th to Friday 30th December, and over 10 days from Monday 9th to Friday 20th January. Weekly Swim and Survive lessons will begin on Saturday 21st January for a 9 week period.

Royal Life Saving Society WA will hold a Pool Lifeguard induction day at the Subiaco Primary School Pool in the coming weeks, which will include a professional development session to up skill our lifeguards who will be working there over summer, in time for the official opening of the pool to the local community with the annual Splash Dance Festival on Friday 25th November.

Royal Life Saving staff and volunteers will also be at the Subiaco School Fair this weekend, on Sunday 6th November, with a stall to encourage local parents to enrol their children in the summer swimming lesson program. We'd love to see you on the day, or if you can't make it you can get further details about the Subiaco Primary Swim School by calling 1800 305 791 or simply email subiacoswimschool@rlsswa.com.au.
