The party was hosted by Warmun Pool Manager Steve Waterman and his wife Aisyah, with children and families from the community visiting the pool for a great night of fun. Parents enjoyed playing with their kids in the pool whilst an outstanding level of supervision was provided by the Gija Youth Team.

Community members were treated to a spread of healthy food, with Aisyah preparing beef fried rice, sausages and a fruit platter, so families could enjoy a great feed whilst immersing in the fun.

Steve Waterman and Shonece PurdieThe amazing night filled with a range of family-friendly activities also provided a perfect opportunity to commend the contributions of Gija Youth Program Manager Shonece Purdie. Shonece was presented with a Royal Life Saving WA Certificate of Thanks for her ongoing help and assistance with events at the Warmun pool.

Events hosted at the remote pools provide an opportunity for the community to come together and experience the pool’s offerings with their families. Leading to enhanced community cohesion, it’s great to see so many Warmun community members in attendance and enjoying the activities with others.

It’s thanks to Royal life Saving WA’s partners and supporters that events such as these can be hosted in remote communities. The community thoroughly enjoys the events and parties that are hosted, and it’s encouraging to see so many people coming out to take part.
