Well deserved awards as Subiaco School Pool opens for the season

29 November 2019

The swimming pool at Subiaco Primary School is buzzing with activity after opening up for the season last weekend. At the official opening Subiaco Splash Dance party Royal Life Saving WA was pleased to be able to offer a special thanks to two amazing women who’ve been instrumental in activating the pool for the local community over a number of years.

Jodi Mansfield and Fed Pagliaricci from the Subiaco Primary P&C have done a fantastic job of engaging with Royal Life Saving WA to maintain the pool, selling pool membership and engaging the local community with pool activities. Because of their hard work and dedication hundreds of children - and some adults - get valuable, supervised pool time where they can learn swimming and water safety skills and feel confident in the water.

Over the past 5 years the pool has offered swimming lessons, private and public pool parties, membership for community members and general after school swimming. Jodi and Fed promote Royal Life Saving WA with banners, branded goodies and social media posts, and have become amazing ambassadors for water safety education and community engagement.

Each year the Royal Life Saving Society WA presents honours awards to actively recognise volunteers, members and staff who have made an important contribution to our work, and to water safety more broadly. We were pleased to award Jodi and Fed with the WA President’s Award to recognise their exceptional contribution.

We look forward to seeing the local community enjoy learning and having fun at the Subiaco Primary School Pool over the summer months, and to continuing our strong relationship with the Subiaco P&C into the future.
