Double the win for digital raffle program

Royal Life Saving WA’s auRaffles program has been acknowledged for excellence in fundraising, receiving not one but two awards from the Fundraising Institute of Australia.

Presented at a gala dinner in Melbourne, the digital platform was announced winner of the Fundraising Impact through Technology award and joint winner of the Most Outstanding Fundraising Campaign award.

Created by Royal Life Saving in 2017, auRaffles is a customisable online raffle platform built to support Australian charities, not-for-profits and community organisations with their fundraising raffles, marketing and customer support.

“This was a key part in our digital fundraising transformation, we knew investing in systems and people was key to adapting to an ever changing and highly regulated business,” said Royal Life Saving Chief Marketing Officer, Allan Godfrey.

“We realised we needed to continue to innovate, to become more efficient and reduce our impact on the environment. So, we built a platform knowing the technology would not only benefit our organisation but other charities as well.”

Since its launch auRaffles has worked with 50 charities including Australian Red Cross, Child Cancer Research and Diabetes WA and has raised over $24 million.

“It’s one thing to win the Technology Award, but to receive joint winner for the Most Outstanding Campaign is a testament to the passion and commitment of our team,” said Allan.

“It’s an honour to win an award judged by your industry peers. To openly share the details of our program strategy, our experience, and the results, and then to be acknowledged as the best of breed, is incredibly humbling.”
