Royal Life Saving named FIA WA Fundraising Team of the Year
Royal Life Saving WA has been named the Fundraising Institute Australia (FIA) WA State Fundraising Team of the Year at the FIA WA End of Year Awards Night held last week.
The FIA is Australia’s national peak body for professional fundraising, and Royal Life Saving WA is proud to be a code-compliant member organisation.
These awards celebrate the impactful work of fundraisers across Australia, providing a platform to share their stories and recognise outstanding achievements by individuals and teams.
The Fundraising Team of the Year award acknowledges internal teams that excel across various campaigns, supporting their organisation’s mission. This award highlights teamwork, innovation, and the effective use of internal resources to achieve fundraising goals. State and territory winners will progress to the national stage, where one team will be crowned the FIA National Fundraising Team of the Year.
Fundraising is a cornerstone of Royal Life Saving WA's operations, providing critical support for our vital water safety and drowning prevention programs.
In 2023/24, our fundraising team achieved remarkable results, raising over $3 million through community-based activities (excluding bequests, sponsorships, and grants) thanks to the generosity of more than 15,000 supporters. This success was built through direct engagement with over 100,000 people across Western Australia.
“The team should be extremely proud of their achievements over the past 18 months, both individually and collectively. With team members operating from four different offices, and many spending most of their time in the field, it is genuinely a pleasure to share this award with the entire team. It is definitely well-deserved recognition,” said Royal Life Saving WA Chief Marketing Officer Allan Godfrey.
