Royal Life Saving WA named as a finalist in the WA Training Awards 2019

7 August 2019
Royal Life Saving WA is delighted to announce that we have been selected as a finalist in this year’s WA Training Awards.

Hosted by the Department of Training and Workforce Development, the awards are now in their 25th year of recognising outstanding achievements within the training sector. With eight individual categories and five organisation categories, the awards highlight the state’s top-achieving apprentices, trainees and vocational students, as well as the contribution to training made by trainers, training organisations and employers.

Royal Life Saving WA was nominated for WA Small Training Provider of the Year 2019 and has been shortlisted as one of three finalists for the award, along with Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services and Marr Mooditj Training.

Following a written application, on-site visits to each of the finalists were conducted by the selection panel to assess each applicant against the selection criteria. Organisations were asked to demonstrate leading practice in vocational education and training, strategic planning processes, human resource capability, partnerships and links and a student, employer and market focus.

The selection panel were interested in how our organisation embraces innovation and change; our capacity to plan for – and adapt to – future changes in vocational education and training; how we ensure the sustainability of our operations and the strategies we have in place to identify social, economic, industrial or environment issues, among many other items forming each criterion.

Royal Life Saving WA is honoured to have been selected as a finalist for the WA Small Training Provider of the Year award and would like to congratulate each of the finalists that have been announced across the 13 award categories. Winners will be announced at an awards presentation dinner at Crown Perth in September – best of luck to everyone on the night!
