VALE Honourable David Anderson AM
The Royal Life Saving Society WA would like to acknowledge the recent passing of The Honourable David Anderson AM.
David was State President of the Society from 1970 until 1985. As well as being State President he was Western Australia’s representative on the Australian Council and in 1979 was appointed National Deputy President, an honour for the whole State. David received many awards and honours including becoming a Member of the Order of Australia for service to the Royal Life Saving Society. He contributed an enormous amount to the Society as a competitive lifesaver, its legal advisor and as President.
Among the many highlights was the hosting of the 1979 Australian Lifesaving Championships in conjunction with the Australian Council conference. At the championships the Western Australian women’s team won the T W White Trophy for overall champion.
On behalf of the Royal Life Saving Society WA we extend our deepest condolences and sympathies to David’s family.
