WA charities working together in an Australian-first for fundraising

5 June 2018

Four of Western Australia’s prominent charities have come together to form the Western Charity Alliance. Children’s Leukaemia & Cancer Research Foundation, Diabetes WA, Rebound WA and Royal Life Saving Society WA are giving West Australians the chance to support all four charities with a single transaction - a unique example of how charities can work together to make a difference in our community.

Simon Mead, CEO, Rebound WA says it’s an exciting initiative. “The Alliance is focused on delivering increased value to the WA community by working together and increasing the effectiveness of our fundraising efforts. The community have asked charities to collaborate, so I am delighted to be working in a new co-operative arrangement with three other amazing charities.”

The Alliance kicks off today, and enables individuals to purchase a bundle of raffle tickets, supporting all four charities fundraising raffles in a single purchase. It is a brand new, Australian-first initiative to develop and progress collaboration amongst four likeminded charities.

All four Alliance charities conduct their own individual fundraising raffles, to raise vital funds for their respective work in the community. But when supporters purchase tickets through the Western Charity Alliance they receive tickets in all four independent raffles conducted over the next four months, supporting all of the charities and having four individual chances to win through once simple online transaction.

Andrea Alexander, CEO, Children’s Leukaemia & Cancer Research Foundation says it’s an amazing initiative. “The formation of the Western Charity Alliance is a clear demonstration of four likeminded charities wanting to work together in a collaborative and innovative manner. The charity sector is always looking for ways to work together and this is a great example on how we can deliver greater impact by sharing fundraising resources.”

The Alliance enables the four partners to minimise fundraising costs and share the resources required to connect supporters with the impact each charity makes in WA. A unique example of how charities can work together to make a difference.

Allan Godfrey, Chief Marketing Officer, Royal Life Saving Society WA is excited to be involved in this unique partnership. “The Western Charity Alliance is a new and creative approach to fundraising. We have four amazing charities that have a shared desire to improve our fundraising activities and the trust and courage to work closely together on a program which may well be the first of its kind in Australia.”

As the Western Charity Alliance launches today, raffle tickets are being sold by our friendly fundraisers in shopping centres around the Perth metro area. Helen Plange-Korndoerfer, General Manager – Marketing, Diabetes WA hopes that all West Australians get behind the initiative “The Alliance is a great example of four innovative charities with a strong focus on improving the lives of West Australians working together. We hope that this is just the start and we can leverage each other’s resources to bring more value to the WA community.”
