Multicultural steering committee

31 July 2015

Yesterday, Royal Life Saving WA hosted the Steering Committee for Multicultural Swimming & Water Safety Education in WA.

A variety of representatives from different organisations in Western Australia attended to discuss further strategies to deliver Water Safety Education.

One of these representatives was, Sally Bower, from Ishar Multicultural Women's Health Centre. Sally was recognised for her work with Royal Life Saving WA over the past 5 years and was awarded the WA Associate Award.

Jen Mickle from Royal Life Saving WA, who organised and chaired the meeting, said that "Key stakeholders and partnerships are vital to the future of Multicultural Swimming & Water Safety Education by developing and implementing Multicultural Programs in Western Australia."

Some great discussions and ideas were covered and hopefully Royal Life Saving WA can improve the delivery of Water Safety messages to some of these Multicultural areas.
