Lifeguard training in Saudi Arabia

21 January 2016

Royal Life Saving Society WA’s Vocational Training Manager Steve Good is currently in Saudi Arabia, delivering Pool Lifeguard training for the Saudi Arabian Swimming Federation.

Steve is conducting three training courses for more than 40 Saudis over a three week period and has had a great response so far.

The participants, who work as lifeguards for the Fitness Time group of gymnasiums, have learnt valuable first aid and CPR skills, along with pool rescue techniques.

It’s hoped the training will assist these lifeguards to provide a safe swimming environment for patrons at these gymnasiums, and is part of an overall plan by the Saudi Arabian Swimming Federation to improve the standards of swimming facilities in their nation.
