Medals for WA at the Pool Lifesaving Championships
WA's team came away with three medals and fifth place overall at the Australian Pool Lifesaving Championships on the Gold Coast.
Lachlan Meldrum was the star of our state, with a gold medal on day two in the Under 16 100m Manikin Carry, and a bronze on day three in the Under 16 50m Manikin Carry.
Michael Hall was our first medalist of the event, with a bronze on day one in the Under 14s 100m Manikin Carry.
The team of 8, including Michael Hall (Under 14), Siobhan Hall, Trent Huzzard, Lachlan Meldrum, Laura Saxon (Under 16s), Bridgett Seedy-Dittrich, Connor Burdan (Under 19s) and Nathan Rogers (Open), earned some great experience from the event, learning from new State Coach Sarah Hamilton, an accomplished athlete who's been a member of the WA and National teams in recent years.
We congratulate them all for their efforts, and look forward to seeing them competing again for our state in the future.
