Participants of the newly opened Warmun Training Academy
Training with the Talent Pool Academy
Have you heard of the Warmun Training Academy?
If you answered no, that's because it's only just opened courtesy of the Talent Pool Academy in partnership with BHP.
Stephen Waterman, Warmun Remote Pool Manager and Tim Turner, Senior Manager of Regional and Community Development at Royal Life Saving WA assisted with the new project from its inception all the way to facilitating the first participants through the program.
The lucky ones who were able to undertake training sessions at the new academy were four boys from boarding school.
The boys all have a strong interest in working at the pool over the school holidays, so training them up and opening the academy seemed like the perfect opportunity.
Plans are also in place for the boys who haven't already done so undertake Bronze Medallion training and complete their CPR and First Aid qualifications.
Mr Waterman said he’d “like to thank Tim Turner for his guidance and support as well as the ongoing support which BHP provides with Talent Pool Academy.''
Since undertaking their training early last month, the boys are set to have their first shifts at the Warmun Community Pool very soon, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for their friendly faces.
Talent Pool Academy enables its participants to make friends and focus on fitness all with the common goal of securing first-time employment.
