Since 1992 it has been mandatory for all Home Swimming Pools in Western Australia to be protected by a barrier that restricts access to the pool area by unsupervised children.

The Royal Life Saving Society WA has been engaged by the City of South Perth to help ensure your home swimming pool barrier meets the Australian Standards and West Australian requirements by sending a Home Pool Assessor to conduct a Barrier Assessment.

The City of South Perth has notified you that previously identified faults with your pool barrier be rectified immediately. To assist you with this, the Royal Life Saving Society has provided a free digital copy of the “Rules for Pools” guide and a safety checklist at the link below. Use these to prepare your home pool in readiness for your assessment.
