Vocational competency and current industry skills

Trainers and assessors must provide evidence of current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided. You have been sent this form via email, please complete it and send it back as per instructions provided.

Professional Development

First Aid Trainers are required to complete a minimum number of 5 face-to-face and/or online Professional Development sessions. The VET Session is mandatory for all trainers delivering UoC. If you have attended/completed RLSSWA F2F sessions or online modules, you are not required to upload Certificates. If you have attended/completed professional development through different organisations, please upload certificates below.

How to obtain your trainer qualification:

  • Make sure you have completed the required professional development sessions The VET session is mandatory for First Aid Trainers.
  • Download and read the RTO and Trainer requirement document
  • Download and sign the Volunteer Agreement
  • Complete the form with your most up to date details.
  • Provide details on Professional Development sessions you have completed/attended.
  • Provide details on the industry work you have completed over the last 12 months using the Vocational Competency Form.
  • Upload your current Working With Children Check
  • Submit.
  • We will check our records to confirm you have met all requirements (hold valid qualifications, hold a valid WWCC and completed professional development). You will be contacted if requirements have not been met.
  • You will receive your trainer award within 10 working days from submission.
