Your RLSSWA Trainer Certificate expires on June 30th every year. In order to deliver our programs it is essential that you update your Trainer status prior to this date. Please see below requirements and requalification forms.

RLSSWA are offering a 50% discount on their trainer fees for the new financial year and deferring the payment of this fee for six months until January 2021. Rear more here!

 

Aquatic & Resuscitation Trainer Requalification

Aquatic, Resuscitation and Heart Beat Club Trainers requalification requirements:

 

  • Hold a current Bronze Medallion or START Certificate (Aquatic Trainers) or Resuscitation Award (Resuscitation and Heart Beat Club Trainers)*
  • Hold a valid Working with Children Check
  • Complete/attend Professional Development sessions ( 3 online sessions OR 1 full day face-to-face session plus 1 online session OR 1 half a day face-to-face session plus 2 online sessions)

*We understand due to Covid-19 restrictions and suspension of training courses you might hold expired qualifications at this stage. Aquatic courses have now resumed, please refresh your awards before scheduling your training courses.

First Aid Trainer Requalification

First Aid and CPR Trainers requalification requirements:

 

 

  • Hold a current Advanced First Aid and CPR (First Aid Trainers only) or Provide First Aid and CPR (CPR Trainers only)*
  • Hold a valid Working with Children Check
  • Complete/attend Professional Development sessions ( 5 online sessions plus 1 VET session OR 1 full face-to-face session plus 3 online sessions OR 1 half a day face-to-face session plus 4 online sessions - RLSSWA January Seminar includes the VET session, if you have attended face-to-face sessions through external Organisations Certificate of attendance must be provided)
  • Maintain current industry skills (min. 8 hours)
  • Review of Trainer Performance - all First Aid Trainers must undertake a face-to-face performance review on one of their training courses. We have already performed more than 70% of reviews and we will continue to go through the process over the next financial year. See Third Party Agreement for details.

Pool Lifeguard/Pool Ops Trainer Requalification

  • Hold a current Pool Lifeguard and Advanced First Aid Certificate*
  • Maintain Vocational competency within the industry
  • Hold a valid Working with Children Check
  • Complete/attend Professional Development sessions ( 5 online sessions plus 1 VET session OR 1 full face-to-face session plus 3 online sessions OR 1 half a day face-to-face session plus 4 online sessions - RLSSWA January Seminar includes the VET session, if you have attended face-to-face sessions through external Organisations Certificate of attendance must be provided)
