The Swimming and Water Safety Teacher licence is valid for one year from the date of issue. Swimming and Water Safety Teachers are required to maintain their industry licence through a renewal application process.

 

Updating your Industry Licence affirms your commitment to maintain currency in safety, ongoing professional development, industry standards of practice and behavioural guidelines.

Requirements: We encourage you to submit all requirements before the expiry date so that you maintain continuity of accreditation. On approval of your accreditation application, you will receive a copy of your Industry Licence and RLSSWA membership.

Statement of Attainment

Please upload a copy of your Statement of Attainment for the Swimming and Water Safety Teacher skill set (SISSS00112). This must include the following units: SISCAQU008- Instruct water familiarisation, buoyancy and mobility skills SISCAQU010- Instruct swimming strokes SISCAQU009- Instruct water safety and survival skills SISCAQU002- Perform basic water rescues

Delivered and assessed by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO)

Evidence of Knowledge and skill in basic water rescue techniques

Eg. Copy of current basic water rescue certificate, supporting letter from swim school owner etc.

Professional Development

Evidence of ongoing professional development in both water safety and swim teaching techniques (successfully completed a minimum of four (4) swim instructor specific online courses with RLSSWA or equivalent)
