The RTO is undergoing major reviews and revisions on all layers of its operations. These revisions, particularly of our training and assessment resources, may impact on you, the training staff. We will however, make every attempt to keep you all informed via our weekly EDMs; of website amendments, resource amendments and changes to systems and processes which may impact on the delivery of the programs you provide.

However, it is imperative that our updates are read by you in order to keep abreast of any changes that may occur and any updates that may impact on the delivery of services you provide to your learners, as a partner to The RTO.

 Marketing and Advertising Material Updates

We remind all trainers, should there be any trainers currently utilising the National Registered Training (NRT) Logo on their promotional or marketing material, unless you are an RTO in your own right, this symbol must be removed immediately. 

Your marketing and promotional material, if used, must include the following:

    • The RTO name and The RTO code are to be made clear
    • A declaration that The Third Party is working in partnership with The RTO and that The RTO will be awarding the statement of attainment.

Regulatory Bodies

The regulatory and governing bodies used to guide operations, delivery of services, quality control and continuous improvement for The RTO are highlighted below. It is the responsibility of all training staff to be familiar with the requirements and standards embedded within these guidelines:

  • The Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA)
  • Your Third Party Agreement  
  • National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011 (NVR Act 2011)
  • The specific Training Package you are training and assessing against
  • The Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015

Assessment Results Notification Requirements

Trainers are reminded, assessment results should be received by The RTO no later than 48 hours after assessment.

New Third Party Agreement

The Third Party Agreements have been revised to provide you with a more streamlined, relevant, current and valid reducing the current 28 pages to 16. The new Third Party Agreements will be disseminated to all training staff at the end of March. You will find many changes within this agreement, of which we request you become familiar with, in its entirety.

Professional Development

An annual Professional Development (PD) Schedule has been developed for your convenience. A series of 12 months worth of PD options will be provided as an Annex to your new Third Party Agreement. This will cover a diverse and varied range of topics that you may attend over the next financial year. Specific information on PD is provided to you in your Third Party Agreement.

Training & Assessment Resources & Full Scale Validation & Audit

Over the last 8 months, some training and assessment resources have already been revised, others will continue to be redeveloped as we progress through 2018. We will continue to keep you informed, as best we can, on the progress and updates of these changes.

We understand 2018 may bring about many changes to the Training and Assessment resources, which in turn may impact on the way you deliver or assess the programs you are responsible for.  We request your patience and understanding that this is a measure we have taken in order to ensure we meet all compliance requirements against The Standards for RTOs 2015. 

We remind all Trainers, it is a requirement, while under partnership with The RTO, you ensure your resources are valid, current and use ONLY the approved and provided resources by The RTO

Trainers found not using  the approved resources of The RTO  are in breach of the Third Party Agreement and will be asked to cease delivery of services forthwith until rectification can be evidenced.

Rules of Evidence & Principles of Assessment

It is imperative that all trainers are conversant with of the Rules of Evidence and the Principles of Assessment.

We remind all training staff it is the responsibility of the assessor to mark every assessment tool and provide assessor and learner sign off on each assessment tool/instrument, as evidence to support all parties lie witness to the result. 

 Trainer Audits 

The RTO is under intense scrutiny to ensure we provide the very best service for our learners, therefore over the coming year we will be completing out of session audits. Audits of advertising and promotional materials, completed assessments and the feedback from your past learners may be collected.

Should there be any issues or non-compliance identified, reports will be sent out to you in order to rectify the issues identified.

Serious breaches of The Third Party Agreement, eg not utilising The RTOs training and assessment materials, may require you to cease delivery of the programs your provide immediately, until such time as rectification can be evidenced as fixed.

TAE Upgrades

All trainers who hold the TAE4010 are required to upgrade to the TAE40116 no later than 28th December 2018 in order to maintain their currency. Should trainers not upgrade in this timeframe they will be in breach of their Third Party Agreement and unable to deliver any programs under partnership with The RTO.
