TRAINER QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS – Upgrade to TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

We remind all trainers that you are required to upgrade to the new qualification TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or TAE40110 plus TAEASS502 and TAELLN411 .

Should trainers not upgrade to these qualifications they will be in breach of their Third Party Agreement and unable to deliver any programs under partnership with The RTO.

Those trainers who currently hold the TAE40110 are required to complete the following units of competence in order to upgrade to the TAE40116:

TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools - (TAEASS502) requires the following assessments to be completed: developing at least three (3) assessment instruments that support different assessment methods, which address at least one (1) entire unit of competency each. Include the instruments for collecting evidence, reflecting the principles of assessment and the rules of evidence, and related instructions to the assessors and candidates. Show how the contextual needs of different environments are addressed and reporting on the trail and review of each assessment tool, including proposed changes.
 

TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills -  (TAELLN411) requires the following assessments to be completed: use of the following tools to identify the LLN skill requirements (reading, writing, speaking, listening and numeracy) of the training specification and/or assessment process relevant to vocational delivery, use various sources to gather information on the current LLN skills of a learner group, identify available sources of support to address at least two of the identified LLN skill needs of the learner group, customise and use at least two learning resources to address LLN requirements, select, use and review at least two instructional strategies that directly address the identified LLN needs of the learner group, use advice from specialist LLN practitioners to inform practice select, use and review at least two assessment strategies that cater for the identified LLN needs of the learner group, determine areas for improvement of own practice.
 

Due to the comprehensive assessment requirements of these units, and the time it may take for the evidence to be gathered, we encourage you all to gain this upgrade as soon as practicable. If trainers cannot provide evidence of the required upgrade of units by 1st of July 2019 their services under partnership with The RTO will cease immediately, under the terms of The Third Party Agreement.

 
Unfortunately Royal Life Saving Society WA will not recommend other training providers for this upgrade. We ask you source your upgrades from RTOs that meet your own personal and professional needs and requirements.
