When are Women's Only Swim and Survive lessons held?

The Women's Only Swim and Survive programs are held during school terms. Lessons are typically during school hours, however evening classes are now available at Riverton Leisureplex.

How long are the lessons and the program?

Classes run for one hour, once a week for eight weeks.

Where are the lessons held?

The Women's Only Swim and Survive program runs at various locations across Perth and WA:

  • Leisurepark Balga (Princess Road)
  • Cannington Leisureplex (Wharf Street and Seven Oaks Street)
  • Riverton Leisureplex (Riley Road)
  • The Swim School Wangara (Automotive Drive)
  • South Hedland Aquatic Centre (Leake Street)
  • South West Sports Centre (Rotary Avenue, Withers)

What time and what day are the lessons?

  • Leisurepark Balga classes are every Tuesday at 11:30am-12:30pm or 12:30-1:30pm
  • Cannington Leisureplex classes are every Tuesday at 12-1pm or 1-2pm
  • Riverton Leisureplex classes are every Friday evening at 6-7pm or 7-8pm
  • The Swim School Wangara classes are every Tuesday at 12-1pm or 1-2pm
  • South Hedland Aquatic Centre (times vary each term, please monitor the registration page)
  • South West Sports Centre (times vary each term, please monitor the registration page)

How much do the lessons cost?

It costs $65 for the 8 week term in the Metropolitan area and $50 for Regional areas. You do not need to pay for pool entry, just let reception know you are there for the Women's Only Swim and Survive Lessons. Please note there are no refunds if you are no longer able to attend.

How do I register for the Women's Only Swim and Survive classes?

Are the swimming pools public or private?

Cannington Leisureplex, Leisurepark Balga, South West Sports Centre and South Hedland Aquatic Centre are public facilities. The classes are strictly women's only with female instructors however, the facility is open to the general public. The Swim School Wangara is a smaller, private purpose-built facility. During the women's only swimming lessons it is strictly women only in the facility. The door will be closed and blinds pulled down so no member of the public can see the classes.

What if I can't make a lesson?

No worries at all! We will see you the following week. If you are unable to finish the term please call Royal Life Saving WA on 9383 8200 and speak to Jen Mickle or Rochelle Graham so we can notify the swimming instructors. Please note there are no refunds.
