Invest in your workforce and train your staff YOUR way!
Traineeships are a great way for organisations to recruit, train and build their workforce to suit their needs.
Employers in the sport and recreation industry can partner with Royal Life Saving WA as the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) to deliver and assess qualifications in a range of sporting and recreational environments.
Incorporating Vocational Education and Training (VET) into your staff development strategy can help your organisation in a number of ways:
- Protect your organisation against future skills shortages
- Train staff according to the methods and processes specific to your organisation
- Introduce new skills into your organisation
- Increase employee retention and satisfaction
Financial Support for Employers
Organisations who employ trainees can benefit from various State and Federal Government financial incentives and rebates, if eligible. A new employer incentive scheme was introduced in WA in July 2019 to help employers with the costs of employing a new entrant trainee.
Learn more about employer incentives at the Jobs and Skills WA website.
Employer Responsibilities
Throughout a traineeship, an employer is responsible for a number of things including:
- providing the appropriate facilities and support to supervise the trainee
- coordinating relevant work experiences
- ensuring the trainee receives appropriate on-the-job training such as an induction process
- providing all relevant workplace equipment, uniforms and PPE if required
