Vocational education and training (VET) courses are available to senior secondary students while they are still at school. This is often referred to as VET in Schools, or VETiS. VET courses offer learning that is directly related to employment. Nationally recognised qualifications are developed by industry to provide the knowledge and skills needed to work in a particular job.

Students can undertake VET at school:

  • as part of their school studies, where the course is delivered by a school which is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or resourced through another RTO.
  • as a school-based apprentice or trainee

VET qualifications undertaken while at school provide credit towards the Western Australian Certificate of Education.
