Training. The Pool Lifeguard course uses the most up to date learning methods as it’s delivered through a combination of online theory, face to face learning and on-the-job practical experience. Leveraging our strong network of instructors and pool lifeguards you will receive seasoned guidance and support throughout your training.
Support. Royal Life Saving WA will be your one point of contact from enrolment through the life of your license so you can be assured that the information you get along the way is the most up to date and accurate. Whether it’s questions about your online theory to the latest free professional development opportunities we’re here for you.
Accreditation. Upon successful completion of the Pool Lifeguard course, students will be issued a Statement of Attainment and a licence. (Students must have completed the unit HLTAID011 Provide first aid prior to enrolling in this course.)
Licence and Membership application
Pool Lifeguard Licences are valid for one year from the date of issue.
Applying for your Pool Lifeguard licence means you also apply to become a member of Royal Life Saving Society WA. Along with this comes perks.

- Ongoing face-to-face professional development opportunities
- First notice of job opportunities provided by Royal Life Saving WA
- Insurance cover for the duration of your Pool Lifeguard licence.
Your application for both Membership and Licence will be sent to the Board for consideration, and you will be notified of the Board's decision as soon as practicable.
