Maintain your licence

The requalification of your Swim Teacher licence is an annual requirement. These components are from the Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations. 

Current CPR qualification. This award is valid for 12 months from date of course. The following awards will be accepted for your CPR qualification:

• Current HLTAID009 or HLTAID015
• Aquatic rescue
• Bronze Medallion
• Pool lifeguard

Valid Working With Children Check. Your WWC Card is valid for three years and it is recommended you renew it at least one month prior to expiration. Apply for, or renew, your WWCC here:

 

Verification of aquatic rescue ability. The following awards will be accepted for your verification of aquatic rescue ability:

• Bronze star
• Bronze cross
• Bronze medallion
• Aquatic rescue
• Pool lifeguard

Professional Development. Evidence of on-going professional development in both water safety and teaching techniques. The requirement is to take part in at least 4 professional development opportunities within the 12 months of licensing.
