group of friends at the beach

Royal Life Saving WA's Youth Reference Group brings together a diverse group of young people aged 15-24 years who are interested in water safety and drowning prevention.

The aim of the Youth Reference Group is to ensure all youth programs and activities run by Royal Life Saving WA are relevant, accessible and sustainable.

What does the Youth Reference Group involve?

  • Attend monthly meetings
  • Maintain contact between meetings via email
  • Discuss how we can make the program more relevant to young people, including:
    • campaign branding and imagery;
    • campaign resources;
    • campaign messaging;
    • program activities;
    • and much more!

What you get in return:

Youth Reference Group members will receive free food for participation, and;
  • have their voice heard in a state-wide program;
  • gain valuable insight into the preventive health sector;
  • contribute to reducing the number of young people who drown;
  • meet new people;
  • develop skills in teamwork, public speaking and leadership; and
  • attend workshops and training where possible
