Leinster

shire of Leonora logoLeinster is a town in the northern Goldfields region, within the Shire of Leonora. It lies 368km north of Kalgoorlie and is often described as an ‘oasis in the desert’ thanks to its abundance of trees.

Leinster was established in 1976 as a mining support town, prior to which the area was pastoral land. The town was named after nearby pastoral station Leinster Downs.

The community of Leinster, who are mainly affiliated with nearby mining operations, enjoy a thriving and active lifestyle with a slew of amenities available including an Olympic-sized swimming pool.
