Support

On average, every year we lose up to 4 children to drowning in WA.

This can only be described as an unimaginable tragedy for the families involved, and Royal Life Saving Society WA works hard every year to minimise these incidents through its drowning prevention programs.

Royal Life Saving recognises the trauma and sadness associated with losing a child to drowning and has established a "Support" program to assist families affected by such a tragedy.

Peer Support Services

Royal Life Saving has established a peer support network to connect those parents and families dealing with the loss of a child to drowning, or living with the consequences of a non fatal drowning.

We have a network of ambassadors who have been through similar tragic incidents, and are able to provide someone to talk with who has experienced those feelings of grief and loss. We can arrange an initial introduction for those who need assistance, with one of our ambassadors.

Professional Grief Support Counselling Services

Royal Life Saving has established a Professional Counselling Service to help parents and families dealing with the loss of a child to drowning.  We have partnered with Red Nose WA who have qualified grief counselors on staff to provide the appropriate professional assistance to families dealing with the grief of losing a child.  These sessions are funded by Royal Life Saving and offered free of charge to the families.

Your vital support allows us to deliver these services to families impacted by a child drowning throughout the WA community.
