Yandeyarra

Town of Port Hedland logoYandeyarra is a small Aboriginal community in the Pilbara region, approximately 140km south-east of Port Hedland. It was one of the first remote WA communities to receive a pool as part of Royal Life Saving WA’s Remote Aboriginal Swimming Pool program.

Situated within the Town of Port Hedland, Yandeyarra is also referred to as Mugarinya Community and was originally a pastoral station. The area has a population of around 400 people. The community lies on the bank of the Yule River, which regularly floods during the wet season.
