Expressions of Interest for Board Directors
Royal Life Saving WA is looking for the next generation of leaders to govern the organisation through an exciting period as outlined in our
Strategic Plan 2020 - 2025. The Board has up to two vacancies.
Royal Life Saving has a skill-based Board and conducts an annual assessment of Director skills to identify strengths and gaps. Based on a recent assessment, the Board wants to strengthen diversity and is actively seeking emerging leaders aged 40 and under and leaders from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
About the Role
- Director positions are voluntary.
- The Royal Life Saving Society Western Australia Constitution entitles Directors to be appointed for a three-year term.
- The Board typically meets 10 times per year, usually in Mt Claremont at the Royal Life Saving Head Office.
- Meetings are currently scheduled for the last Thursday of the month commencing at 7:30am. An indicative time commitment is 2 hours per meeting.
- Video and teleconferencing facilities are available when Directors cannot attend in person or are based outside the Perth metropolitan area.
- Travel and accommodation expenses incurred in the course of Board activities are reimbursed.
Expression of Interest Process
The Board has appointed a nominations committee to search for and recommend candidates. The nominations committee has developed a staged process to determine which applicants are the best fit and to progressively provide applicants with the information they need to understand the roles and responsibilities of a Director.

- Nominations committee to assess/seek further information/meet candidates by COB Friday 20th September 2024.
- The Board recommends candidate/s to fill vacancies on 26th September 2024.
- Members consider recommendation at the Annual General Meeting on 24th October 2024.
