Swim School Open Days a great intro to summer swimming
With summer fast approaching, a number of Royal Life Saving WA Endorsed Swim Schools have opened their doors to the community as part of our Swim School Open Day campaign. The campaign aims to promote the importance of swimming and water safety education and encourage all WA families to enrol into their local Endorsed Swim School.
The centres involved in the Open Days so far this Spring include Churchlands Swim School, Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre, Wanneroo Aquamotion, Swim Mechanix Success, Swim Mechanix Byford, Newman Churchlands Swimming Club and Carnarvon Swim School. Each swim school received promotional items to use as giveaways at the event, targeted digital marketing as well as an extensive open day campaign with 10 Play.
The open days were held during the recent school holidays, allowing participants to see their local centre, take part in fun activities and receive a free Swim & Survive assessment to assist parents in knowing which level to enrol their child into.
Royal Life Saving WA Senior Manager Swimming and Water Safety Education, Trent Hotchkin hopes to see more parents get their children involved in Swim and Survive lessons ahead of summer, especially considering that more than 50,000 children missed out on lessons during the COVID-19 shutdown this year. “Swimming is an intrinsic part of the Australian way of life, which means that Swim and Survive lessons are not only essential - they are lifesaving. Building swimming and water safety skills from young children right through to adults is vital work and the single most important investment we can make as a community to prevent drowning.”
Endorsed Swim School Open Days will continue to run across the summer months, with the next happening at Gingin Aquatic Swim School on Sunday 25th October.
