Water safety comes first at South Ballajura Education Support Centre

With summer on the way, Royal Life Saving WA’s Water Safety Talks are an ideal way for schools to ensure children have the water safety knowledge and skills they need to stay safe in the water.

Royal Life Saving WA offers interactive 45-minute water safety workshops for Primary School aged children, with the talks tailored to the individual age group they are presented to.

The talks were presented to a total of 55 students, many of whom have special needs.

The school decided that the talks were an important component to include late in their Term Three program of activities as the students will take part in their annual in-term swimming lessons early in Term Four, and these talks give them a great basic understanding of water safety before they take to the water!

Jane says the talks were very well received “It was a fantastic day and the kids responded and interacted with the interactive presentation really well. The students enjoyed the sessions and learnt a lot. The teachers and students loved the activity sheets.”

Royal Life Saving WA looks forward to getting into more schools with water safety activities throughout Term Four. If your school would like to get involved, you can click the link below for more information.
