Beach Party fun at Bell Park in Rockingham
Around 1500 teenagers hit Bell Park at the Rockingham foreshore on Tuesday 15th January for the City of Rockingham’s annual Youth Beach Party.
As part of the City’s Summer Series of events, the beach party provides a free afternoon of fun for local youth aged 12 to 18 years. It’s an opportunity for young residents to connect with each other in a fun and relaxed environment at a dedicated day just for them.
The event is one of the City’s most popular events for young people, and everyone who attended enjoyed soaking up the atmosphere with live music, free food and a range of activities provided by event partners, including Royal Life Saving WA’s Don’t Drink and Drown team.
The Don’t Drink and Drown team engaged the group to deliver vital water safety messages, and discussed the increased risk associated with mixing alcohol consumption and water-based activities. Key messages promoted were knowing your limits, looking out for your mates and enjoying the water while being aware of risks.
DJ Jeremy Tucker provided the beats while the kids caught up with their friends for some school holiday fun. They enjoyed giant inflatable water slides, volleyball in the park, as well as free hamburgers and slushies to keep them going through the day.
