Amazing results for WA at 2018 Australian Pool Lifesaving Championships

TJ Chong Sue, Maddi Howe, Lachlan Meldrum and Madeline Thompson with their bronze medalsWA’s team at the Australian Pool Lifesaving Championships has done amazingly well, finishing with another bag of medals on the final day of competition to end the meet in overall third place. As one of the smaller teams competing this is an incredible result!

Our men were named overall champions in their category, so congratulations to TJ Chong Sue, Harrison Hynes, Lachlan Meldrum, Jake Smith, Josh Windsor and Adam Moore for their amazing efforts. Madeline Thompson, Alicia Anderson, Chalice Pratt and Maddi Howe with their medals by the poolOur Under 16s won overall gold for their age group and our Under 19s won overall bronze. TJ Chong Sue was also named Male Lifesaver of the meet, while four of our team members were named in Australian Barras representative squads. TJ Chong Sue, Chalise Pratt and Harrison Hynes made the Junior Australian Barras squad, while Jake Smith was named in the Open Australian Barras squad.

Royal Life Saving WA is extremely proud of the results achieved by our athletes at the meet and we’d like to thank them for their dedication in preparation and training for the event, and for their fantastic individual and team efforts put in over the three days of competition.

We’d also like to pay tribute to team coach Sarah Hamilton, and managers Jennifer Jones and Jonnine Rowe for their efforts in ensuring our athletes were able to prepare and compete so incredibly well!
