What is the Heart Beat Club?
The Heart Beat Club is a community education initiative that aims to increase your skills and confidence in CPR and first aid for infants and children. The three-hour session is designed for parents and carers of young children.
Drowning can be prevented
Drowning is the leading cause of preventable death in children under the age of five in Australia and while adult supervision is the best prevention strategy, in the event of a drowning, CPR performed at the scene could be lifesaving.
What will you learn?
The Heart Beat Club covers infant and child CPR, and first aid for common childhood injuries and emergencies including choking, burns, poisoning, falls and shock. You’ll also learn preventive measures and understand how to create a safer environment to reduce the risk of serious injuries.
Note: The Heart Beat Club is a community education initiative only. Attendees may be provided with a certificate of attendance, but it is not a qualification course.
