Multicultural Participation

Research has found that within multicultural groups, awareness of the importance of swimming and lifesaving skills is significantly less than the rest of the population.

Alarmingly, in the last 5 years there has been 50 drowning deaths in WA involving those from multicultural backgrounds, this is 37% of all drowning deaths. Action is required to develop a response to the range of factors that are influencing multicultural communities' lack of participation in swimming & water safety education.
